22 WMR FAQ
Is 22 WMR the same as 22 Mag?
Yes. 22 WMR stands for .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire, and 22 Mag and 22 Magnum are shorthand for the same round.
22 WMR or 17 HMR?
The 17 HMR shoots flatter with a lighter bullet. The 22 WMR carries a heavier bullet that hits harder up close. Both run in rifles chambered for them, never interchangeably. Shop 17 HMR.
Is 22 WRF the same as 22 WMR?
No. The .22 WRF is an older, shorter, lower-pressure round. Buy the caliber stamped on your gun.
