Privacy Policy

Who we are

Gun Gear Warehouse is operated by Gun Gear Warehouse LLC ("we" or "us"), a federally licensed firearms dealer with a retail counter at 1404 S Broadway, Ste A, Oak Grove, Missouri 64075. This policy covers the information you give us online and at the counter, what the site collects on its own, who we pass it to and how to get it changed or deleted. It is part of our Terms of Use.

What we collect

When you order or make an account: your name, email, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, what you bought and your order history. For a firearm or serialized part, we also record the licensed dealer you picked to receive it.

When you pay: your card goes straight to our payment gateway. We see the card type, the last four digits and whether the charge went through. We never see or store the full card number.

At the counter: transfers, pickups and guns you sell or trade to us require a government photo ID, and a firearm transfer requires ATF Form 4473 and a background check. Firearm transfer records explains what that involves.

When you contact us or post: what you write in emails, calls, reviews and questions, plus the display name you post under.

Automatically: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, what you search for and click, how you got to the site and the contents of your cart. Cookies and analytics covers the tools that collect it.

How we use it

  • Processing, shipping and tracking your orders, and handling returns.
  • Sending a firearm to the licensed dealer you chose, and confirming that dealer's license.
  • Checking age, stopping fraud and refusing sales that would break the law.
  • Answering your questions and letting you know about a problem with an order.
  • Keeping the records that federal, state and tax law require.
  • Finding what is broken or confusing on the site and fixing it.
  • Sending marketing email, if you signed up for it, and showing ads for our store on other sites.

Who we share it with

Only the people who need it to get an order to you, run the store or meet a legal duty.

  • Distributors and carriers. Most orders ship directly from a distributor's warehouse. They get your name, shipping address, phone number and what you ordered so they can pack it and send it. Shipping carriers get what they need to deliver it.
  • Your receiving dealer. For a firearm order, the licensed dealer you chose gets your name, contact details and the order so they can complete your transfer.
  • Payment companies. Our gateway and processor handle your card and screen transactions for fraud.
  • The software that runs the store. Our ecommerce platform, the systems that route orders to distributors and our email provider store or process your information on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes.
  • Analytics and advertising partners. Described under Cookies and analytics.
  • Law enforcement and regulators. When the law requires it, such as an ATF inspection or a trace request, a subpoena or a court order, or when we believe it is needed to stop a crime or protect someone's safety.
  • A buyer of the business. If the store is sold or merged, customer records go with it and stay under this policy.

Firearm transfer records

Federal law sets how licensed dealers handle firearm records, and it overrides the rest of this policy where the two differ.

When you buy a gun online, it ships to your receiving dealer, and that dealer completes your Form 4473 and background check. Our own records show the gun going to that dealer.

When a firearm transfer happens at our counter, you fill out Form 4473 and we run the background check. We keep the completed forms and our acquisition and disposition records for as long as federal law requires, which for most of them means for as long as we hold a license. ATF can inspect them, and they go to ATF if we ever stop doing business. We cannot delete them on request, and we do not use them for marketing.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files your browser keeps for a site. Ours keep you logged in, hold your cart and help us see how the site gets used.

  • Store cookies from our ecommerce platform run the cart, checkout and your account. The site does not work without them.
  • Google Analytics counts visits and shows which pages people find and use. Google offers a browser add-on to opt out.
  • Microsoft Clarity records how visitors scroll, click and move through pages so we can find what is broken or confusing. It masks what you type into forms. Microsoft explains more in its privacy statement.
  • The Meta pixel tells Facebook and Instagram which pages you viewed here, so we can show ads for our store to past visitors and measure whether those ads work. You can control this in your Meta ad preferences.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the store cookies will break the cart and checkout. The site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

How long we keep it

Order and payment records stay for as long as tax law and our accounting need them, usually seven years. Firearm records stay as long as federal law requires. Account details stay until you ask us to close the account. Analytics data expires on the schedule each tool sets.

How we protect it

The site runs on encrypted connections, card payments go through a PCI compliant gateway and access to customer records is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.

Marketing email

Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Order confirmations, shipping updates and messages about a problem with your order still come after you unsubscribe, because they are about something you bought.

Seeing, fixing or deleting your data

Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it. Email gungearwarehousellc@gmail.com from the address on your account. We may ask for a detail from a past order to confirm it is you, and we answer within 45 days.

Deleting your data closes your account. Records we are legally required to keep, including firearm transfer records and tax records, stay until that requirement ends.

If you live in a state with its own consumer privacy law, you have the rights that law gives you. If we turn down a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer, and a person who was not involved in the first decision will review it.

Selling and sharing

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we never sell or share firearm purchase records.

Some state laws treat the Meta pixel described above as "sharing" personal information for targeted advertising. To opt out, email gungearwarehousellc@gmail.com with "Do not sell or share" in the subject line, or block third party cookies in your browser.

Minors

The site is for adults. You must be 18 or older to make an account or place an order, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the effective date at the bottom of this page changes with it. If a change affects how we use information we already have, we will email account holders before it takes effect.
