Rimfire FAQ
Can I shoot .22 Short or .22 Long in a .22 LR gun?
Only if the gun's maker says so. Many revolvers and some bolt rifles fire them fine. Most semi-autos will not cycle them, and shorter cases can foul the chamber over time.
What is a CB cap?
A very low-powered .22 round, typically around 700 fps. It is quiet and used for pests at close range and backyard practice where it is legal.
Why does rimfire ammo sometimes fail to fire?
The primer compound is spun into the rim, and an uneven spread can leave a dead spot. Wait 30 seconds with the gun pointed safely downrange before you clear it, then try a different lot if it keeps happening.
