Shotgun Cleaning Kit FAQ
Should I pull the choke tube before cleaning?
Yes. Remove screw-in chokes, clean the threads in the barrel and on the tube, then put a light coat of oil or choke tube lube on the threads before reinstalling. A seized choke is a trip to the gunsmith.
Will a 12 gauge brush work in a 20 gauge?
No. A 12 gauge brush will not enter a 20 gauge bore, and a 20 gauge brush is too loose to scrub a 12. Buy by gauge, or pick a multi-gauge kit.
