AR-15 Tools FAQ
Why use an upper receiver vise block?
Torquing a barrel nut puts a lot of force through the upper. A block or reaction rod spreads that force so the receiver does not twist or get marked in the vise.
Do AR-10 parts need different tools?
Often, yes. Several barrel nut wrenches, vise blocks and pivot pin tools here are made in separate AR-15 and AR-10 versions.
