Pick a height
| Leg height | Good for |
|---|---|
| About 6 to 9 inches | Prone and benchrest |
| About 9 to 13 inches | Prone over grass, and the most common all-around pick |
| About 13 inches and up | Sitting and kneeling shots |
Fixed, pivot or swivel?
A fixed head holds the rifle level and solid. A pivot or swivel head lets the rifle cant left and right, so you can level the scope on uneven ground. Some models also pan side to side.
Brands like Harris, Magpul, Caldwell, MDT, Accu-Tac, Warne, UTG, TruGlo, Allen and Champion, with more added as stock comes in.
Rifle Bipod FAQ
What is a good bipod for an AR-15?
Most AR-15 handguards have M-LOK slots or a Picatinny rail. Start on the M-LOK Bipods or Picatinny Bipods page and pick a height for how you shoot.
What are notched legs?
Notched legs lock at set heights with a click. Smooth legs adjust anywhere in their range. Notches are faster to set up the same way every time.
