| Type | Good for |
|---|---|
| Adjustable torque driver | Setting different values on rings, bases and action screws |
| Fixed limiter | One value you use often, with no setting to drift |
| Digital driver | Reading the exact torque as you tighten |
| Armorer torque wrench | Higher values like AR-15 barrel nuts, with a crowfoot |
Always use the torque value from the maker of the ring, base or action you are installing.

Torque Wrench FAQ
What torque should scope rings be?
It depends on the ring and the scope. Ring makers list a value for the ring screws and the base screws, and many scope makers list a maximum for the tube.
Inch-pounds or foot-pounds?
Scope and action screws are usually listed in inch-pounds. Barrel nuts are usually in foot-pounds, which takes a larger armorer torque wrench.
