What to match
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Caliber rating | 338 Lapua, 8.6 Blackout and 50 BMG each need a can rated for them. |
| Thread pitch | 5/8x24 and 3/4x24 are common on 338 rifles. 50 BMG and other big bores vary more. |
| Mount type | Some cans thread onto the barrel and some lock onto a matching muzzle brake. |
Mounts, pistons and covers are in Suppressor Parts.

338 & Big Bore Suppressors FAQ
Can a 338 can run 308?
Usually, if it is rated for it. Expect it to be louder and heavier on 308 than a dedicated 30 cal can.
Is a suppressed 50 BMG quiet?
No. It is still very loud, so hearing protection stays on. The can cuts concussion and recoil, which matters a lot on a rifle this size.
Do these work on 8.6 Blackout subsonic?
Cans rated for 8.6 Blackout are built for it, and heavy subsonic 8.6 loads are among the quietest big bore setups.
Suppressor laws vary by state, and some states ban them outright. Check the rules where you live before you order. We cannot give legal advice. Questions go to gungearwarehousellc@gmail.com.
