Picking a carry setup
The holster that disappears on one body prints on another, so start with where you will wear it. IWB at 3 to 4 o'clock hides a compact under an untucked shirt. Appendix carry (in front of the hip) is faster to draw and easier to conceal for many people. OWB rides more comfortably but needs a cover garment. Pocket holsters fit small pistols and revolvers only.
Whatever you choose, the holster should fully cover the trigger guard, hold the gun without a strap, and stay open when the gun is out so you can reholster with one hand. A stiff gun belt matters as much as the holster.
Brands here include 1791 Gunleather, DeSantis and Blackhawk. Shopping for the gun itself? Compact pistols are in Semi Auto Handguns.
Concealed Carry FAQ
IWB or OWB for concealed carry?
IWB conceals better because the gun sits inside your pants with only the grip above the belt. OWB is more comfortable for long days but needs a jacket or long overshirt to stay hidden.
Kydex or leather?
Kydex holds its shape, clicks positively on the trigger guard and is easy to reholster. Leather is quieter, more comfortable against skin and molds to the gun over time, but it can soften and collapse with age.
Does the holster have to match my exact gun?
Yes. Molded holsters are made for specific models, and a weapon light or laser changes the fit. Check the fitment line in the listing before you order.
Do I really need a gun belt?
Yes if you want the holster to stay put. A regular dress belt lets the gun sag and tilt. A reinforced gun belt keeps it tight to your body and in the same place every time you reach for it.
